100% HET well started for Ivory Sulcata Hatchling

These sulcatas are the offspring of our male ivory sulcata Merlin and one of our standard sulcata females. To ensure the genetics of out 100% HET Sulcatas, all of the adults females have only bread with an ivory male. This takes a huge amount of planning to create a pure HET breading project but its the only way to truly know the genetics! They are gorgeous! And of course all of our tortoises are captive bread, never imported!

What is 100% HET for Ivory?

They are non visual morphs! This means they can produce ivory hatchlings when bread with an ivory. An adult female 100% Het for ivory Sulcata are very valuable! They rarely become available and are highly desired. Only buy from a reputable breeder to ensure your getting the genetics you are paying for.

Our Care

These fantastic baby sulcatas are feasting on leafy greens and Mazuri tortoise diet. Kept under UVB light to ensure bone health. We maintain a 65%-75% humidity to keep the shell smooth and their growth on track. Routine soakings keep them hydrated and their digestive tracts flowing. 

Sex

All of our hatchlings are incubated to produce females. While the accuracy is very high, thought to be greater than 95%, it can't be guaranteed. Don't be fooled by other sites that let you pick the sex of your baby Sulcata. The only way to know the sex of a hatchling is through surgically sexing. This can only be done by a veterinarian.
